So I got bored and took a trip to Wal Mart to see what they had in stock. I don't normally do retail, but I had "the itch" and so I saw 3 boxes of Archives and said what the hell, let's give it a shot. Here are the results from the break!

Overall Thoughts: I like the idea of Topps Archives..similar to Heritage in using 3 different Topps designs (this year's choices were 1960, 1982, and 1992). The collation though was pretty terrible..especially on the bonus coins. Each blaster had an Orlando Arcia coin..while 2 had Rizzo. So I only got 3 different players out of the 25 in the set. That's insane. Also Box 3 started BRUTAL..with nearly every pack a pack full of duplicates. Nearly had 3 packs worth a doubles to start off that box. Overall I thought I did Okish..nothing groundbreaking, but I did pull 2 of the best rookies in the 1960 Rookie Stars insert set in Benintendi and Moncada, plus a low numbered Koufax parallel and an auto. I wish the auto was not of an umpire, but it's still a 1:582 pull for retail so not too bad. A fun little break to pass time on this Saturday afternoon. Here's pics of the base cards and then the hits of the break.
