Cardfest Day 11 Recap

We last left off pulling that SWEET Luka card. We're down to three products left, two before the big Revolution master case. So let's get going!

I really love the Booklets in this product. Hoping for a sweet one of Baker or Saquon!

Rookie Signatures Platinum Lamar Jackson (#46/49)
Mike Hughes (#36/49)
Deontay Burnett (#44/49)
Ronald Jones II (#7/49)

Rookie Jumbo Memorabilia Prime
Anthony Miller (#14/25)

Fabled Fabric
Warren Moon (#28/299)

Mammoth Materials

Anthony Miller (#22/50)

Rookie Jersey Auto Gold
Kerryon Johnson (#39/99)

Well, it's no Saquon or Baker, but getting a Lamar Jackson auto is pretty perfect timing as he led the Ravens to a playoff berth yesterday! It's a sticker auto, but still numbered to 49 and still a great enough card to be the 3rd best pull of Cardfest. I REALLY love the booklet cards and though they aren't of the top tier rookies, Anthony Miller and Kerryon Johnson aren't bad at all. Very fun break!

Ok...and now..the big one..a lot of hype around this one

So initially I was going to hold this for last, but decided to open this before the Revolution case. Last year's "big" product was Topps Luminaries baseball and that was a total bust. I'm really hoping we can avoid a repeat of that for this year. Let's pull something awesome!

Emerald Base Parallel Peyton Manning (#10/14)

Numbers Jersey
Rob Gronkowski (#79/87)

Gloves Brand Logo
Dante Pettis (#14/15)

Eye Black Auto/Patch
D.J.Moore (#98/99)

Honors Signature
Carson Wentz Redemption (# to 18)

Premium Patch Rookie Autographs Emerald

Ronald Jones II (#3/12)

Well...it's not Luminaries bust but it wasn't great either. The Wentz however is the #2 pull of cardfest as of now so there's that. Regardless of value, the cards are AMAZING looking. I really love the Glove Nike Logo of Pettis and Eye Black/Jersey auto of D.J. Moore.

That will actually do it for this post, as I'll be dedicating a final post to the Revolution case I have!

Cardfest Day 10 Recap

I think I'll be able to knock out everything but the master case of Revolution today. The only lengthy break I see coming is the 2 boxes of Bowman Draft Jumbo. Let's get started! We're going to start with a product that I've already opened in the Cardfest alone on two different instances. It's also our first football product since opening a variation of this product Christmas Day.

We've opened the collector boxes and the blasters already, it's now time for the FOTL Hobby Boxes. Should be a short and sweet break with only 6 cards per box. Really hoping I pull a nice exclusive rookie out of here!

Justin Jackson (#40/50)
Tyler Conklin (#11/50)

Gold Autographs
Deon Cain (#5/10)

It was short...but not that sweet. Football is always a tough product to break..just soooooooooo many terrible rookie autographs. The Chubb Auto is the highlight of the break, and that's really not saying a ton. The Josh Allen Purple Stars parallel is cool too. The other autos outside of possibly Jaylen Samuels...GROSS. The type of players where parallels don't matter because they sell for crap regardless of numbering.

This was a VERY time consuming break, knocking out basically the whole day. Just like Elite Extra Edition, this is a wait and see kind of product with a ton of speculation on these prospects. From my brief, limited research the Stowers and Larnach aren't too bad of pulls.  The Larnach will at this time end up a Top 10 pull for Cardfest as it sells in the $40-$50 range. We'll see what happens with these guys down the road.

Whit Merrifield (#16/75)

This was one of the most confusing, headache inducing breaks I've ever had. I did not enjoy it one bit and will never break High Tek again. Wayyyyy too many patterns and backgrounds within patterns to deal with. The only thing that could've saved this break were the hits and NOPE that didn't happen at all. This is the 3rd Buehler auto I've pulled during Cardfest (along with Jack Flaherty, tied for most) and he's not a BAD rookie to pull, but damn, would it kill anyone if I pulled a higher end name? Very disappointed to say the least.

And now the next 4 products are basically SUPER hit or miss.

Now I didn't do TOO bad last go around with this stuff. Pulled a Pedro Jumbo Patch Auto and a Gary Sanchez Green auto. Let's hope for similar luck.

So did Absolute deliver?? ABSOLUTELY IT DID! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! After a huge lull, we FINALLY a BIG card!!! That Luka is A HUGE PULL and it's such a great looking card! I needed that pick me up big time as it wasn't looking too good! Obviously the new #1 card pull for Cardfest and it's going to be TOUGH to beat, especially with only 3 more products left. Pics of the cards!

So, I'm actually going to end the day on a GOOD note and not press my luck since I'll doubt I'll top the Luka tonight. I'll save Playbook and Immaculate for tomorrow and also the Revolution case. WHAT A DAY!!

Cardfest Day 9 Recap

Ok, so I think the majority of the rest of the break shouldn't be AS time consuming (save for the Revolution 16 box master case of course) as a lot of the product left don't have a ton of cards per box outside of Archives Baseball. We're going to start with this for today

To be honest I have no clue what to expect here. I probably don't know 95% of the subjects in this product. I just bought it to get some prospects cards to possibly stash and 8 autos per box sounded like a good deal. Let's see what's inside

I think I did decent, but not really sure. The Hoerner is actually a solid card from what I've seen and what they sell for. It's actually a good enough card to make my top 10 pulls. It seems like Nova and Seigler could have some potential, and Wander Franco is a popular name and though I only pulled a mem card of his, it's still cool to have. We'll see down the line how this break pans out.

Sticking with Baseball and this is next

Cards are cool looking, but very underwhelming break. Obviously, if you're only getting a box or two of any product, there's a good chance you'll strike out so to speak. Cool to  get a low numbered framed parallel (which the autos look SHARP, just wrong players) but the players leave a lot to be desired. Ah well, onto the next one!

Next up is Bowman High Tek, basically Topps Tek but more geared towards prospects.

Another cards are cool but terrible break value wise.  The different patterns can get quite confusing as well. I'm hoping Topps Tek is a way better break than this was.

Alright, so the next break might be a slight more lengthier since it's the traditional 24 pack per box. It's 2018 Topps Archives.

Archives is always a fun little break. Don't expect much autograph wise since it's full of lower tier "fan favorites" but I got lucky to pull an auto of the actress who played Wendy Peffercorn in one of the greatest baseball movies ever made, The Sandlot. This was a big selling point of Archives, as it's the Sandlot's 25th anniversary and they included autos of most of the cast. I pulled a photo variation of Kris Bryant as well, and although they are considering case hits, they don't sell too well. The Peffercorn auto is definitely a Top 5 pull of Cardfest now. Here's pics of the cards!

So after 4 straight baseball products, it's time to swing back into Basketball. We're getting down to the nitty gritty so to speak as I believe we have about 8 more products to go through which includes the 16 box master case of Revolution. Here's what's next on deck

The problem sometimes with holding product to rip, is you buy way too early and the product ends up flopping and going down. Case in point, certified, I bought my boxes on presell and they were around $90 a box. Now? About $70. $20 difference and the secondary market shows for it. I did pull two Luka Base cards, and I do like the cards. Most of the autos were lower level junk, but I pulled my first Collin Sexton auto (and surprisingly this on card auto doesn't even sell for $10!) and the Lonnie Walker IV Patch/Auto is SUPER sweet looking. That could be a sleeper cards if he realizes his potential with the Spurs. Overall though, not too good and definitely looking back a regrettable purchase. Should've waited to buy this stuff. Pics of the cards and that will do it for Day 9!  We're almost getting to the end!
