We're going to finish off the retail portion of Cardfest today. After this, it's all hobby stuff. Hoping for at least one decent auto here! Here's what I got!

Well...the Flaherty is an ok hit, but overall a dud break. I like the cards, but the inconsistency of the boxes kind of had me frustrated. Box #1 only had two base SP's, while Box #2 had zero Bordered parallels but 2 Private Issue Cards. All scrubs. Autos besides the Flaherty were awful. Anyways, those are the risks you take with retail products. Probably about on line with last year's mediocre Gallery Break.
So that will officially wrap up retail and we now head to the Hobby Portion of the break. 1st on deck is the very first product I bought for cardfest
It's 8 boxes, but there are only 11 cards per box, so it won't be a long break. The auto checklist is short but obviously the better names are harder to hit. These were only $25 a pop so it's definitely worth a shot. Let the Hobby Breaking begin!

So right off the bat we have a new #1 pull for Cardfest with the Judge Gold Parallel. It's numbered to only 10 copies and the 3 other copies have sold anywhere from $50-$70. Obviously from seeing a ton of breaks of this, good autos are hard to come by, so not surprised at all at the autos I got. I do though absolutely love the John Olerud Blue Parallel auto. The Border goes perfectly with the card. I don't mind on card autos of productive vets like Olerud and Eckstein, and if even Ankiel is a fun auto to pull that goes along with my Mark Prior pull a few days earlier. The rest of the autos are the usual common rookie subjects that Topps has in all their products. Guys like Chance Sisco, Alcantara, Ryan McMahon, guys who I have pulled autos of numerous times this year. All in all though for $25 a box, and you get an on card auto, it's still a fun, fast rip.
Well...believe it or not with everything we've opened so far, not one product has been Basketball. Finally we're going to open some B-Ball and we'll start with
I love cheap Hobby breaks. These were only $30 a piece so expectations are low, but at least it doesn't break the bank if I don't pull anything nice. Here we go!

Ugh..what a bad way to start basketball. Outside of the Markkanen auto, which is a decent pull, everything else was pure garbage. On top of things, Panini's trademark collation issues was shown rampantly here, as out of 4 boxes I was pulling doubles and triples of base rookies (they are one per pack) and getting doubles of inserts as well. Nothing irritates me more than collation especially since it never benefits me. Hate to end today on a sour note, especially since it's Christmas Eve, but that'll do it for today. I might be able to squeeze a break tomorrow, but it is Christmas Day, so there's no guarantee. Pics of today's final break
