February Maildays

February might be the shortest month of the year, but I got a ton of pickups in that short span! Here's what I got last month!

2018-19 Optic Russell Westbrook Black Velocity Holo (#14/39)

You know me and Russ parallels. Black Velocity is my 2nd favorite parallel in Optic (besides Gold of course) and it's a parallel that started up last year. I have last year's Russ Black Velocity as well and had to  get this one. Such an awesome looking card.

2018-19 Prizm Green Pulsar Prizm Russell Westbrook (#13/25)

Love everything about this card. Russ about to throw it down, the parallel itself and the fact that it's a retail only parallel numbered to 25 copies. These are TOUGH to hit in blasters. Luckily Russ stuff isn't expensive in the least so this was a no brainer add.

2018 Topps Update All Star Jumbo Patches Gleyber Torres (#1/5)

Thought this was a cool card to get. A mem card from the All Star game of one of the Yankees young stars. And it's numbered to only 5 copies

2018 Select Saquon Barkley Field Level Silver Prizm RC

I absolutely LOVE how Select prizms look, especially the Field Level version. Such a sweet looking rookie of the reigning Offensive Rookie Of The Year.

2018 Select Saquon Barkley Field Level Tri Color Prizm RC

The Tri Color parallels look even BETTER. Love the Red, White and Blue! Just really pops.

2018 Immaculate Honors Autographs Carson Wentz

This was actually a redemption I pulled during Cardfest. Really hoping Wentz can redeem himself after back to back injury plagued seasons. With Nick Foles completely out of the picture, Wents is the undisputed starting QB now and won't have to worry about looking his shoulder and being constantly comparted to Foles anymore. Hopefully he can regain his MVP form.

2009-10 Panini Hall of Fame Basketball Famed Signatures Pat Summitt (#433/599)

I didn't even know this card exists. I stumbled across it while looking through a seller's eBay's auction. I saw it, and had to have it. Pat Summitt isn't just a legendary Women's College Basketball Coach...she's a legendary College Basketball Coach period. Her influence on the game and the many young women she helped inspire is really something to be in awe of. She was beloved by everyone, and unfortunately she succumbed to dementia at the early age of 64. This hits particularly home for me because my mom's brother was diagnosed with dementia in his early 50's and I've seen first hand how terrible the disease is. This was a no brainer purchase and I'm proud to have this auto in my collection.

2018-19 Optic DeAndre Ayton Blue Holo Autograph RC (#42/49)

I really think this is underrated purchase. Considering Optic now goes for $130-$150 a box, I got this for a less than hundred bucks. It's an on card auto rookie card numbered to 49 of the #1 pick of this year's draft. Ayton's had a solid season, but has been overlooked by the flashier rookies in Trae Young and Luka Doncic. Big men typically don't get a lot of hobby love, but if Ayton continues to develop this will definitely be a nice card to have in the collection.

2018-19 Certified Fabric Of The Game Gold Luka Doncic (#3/10)

Yup I saw Gold + Luka and said MUST HAVE. This WASN'T cheap, and I generally don't spend a TON on mem cards, but this was an exception. I just love the look of this card and I wasn't gonna let it get away. Luka's the rookie to get this season and so anything of his is going to be expensive for sure. Even if I overpaid a bit, I'm still thrilled to add this to my collection.

2018 Limited Baker Mayfield Horizontal Auto/Patch RC (#30/99)

I didn't have a Baker Mayfield auto and this one seemed perfect for a few reasons, on card auto, giant patch, and reasonably priced considering what his other stuff goes for. Considering Limited Boxes go for $130-$140, I paid $150 for this card. If Baker builds off his spectacular rookie season, especially if he can somehow leads the Browns to the playoffs, his cards will see a huge increase. I just wanted to own 1 auto before the take off after not picking up Mahomes stuff before he went off.

2007 UD Exquisite Signature Patch Drew Brees (#23/25)

Another example on how Upper Deck made some DAMN good cards. I surprisingly have never owned a Drew Brees auto, even in my first go around of collecting. I stumbled across this as well just browsing Probstein auctions and knowing how high their auctions go, I put in a pretty big bid and hoped I'd end up winning it. I won it surprisingly for WAY less than my max bid. Don't get a chance to strengthen my football collection a lot, but this card definitely does that!

2018-19 Optic Luka Doncic Auto RC

I reallllly wanted this card as I love Optic On Card Rookies. I made sure to get a "legit" version of it as this is a version everyone can agree on that he actually signed.

2016 Bowman Chrome Prospects Autos Juan Soto BGS 9.5

And the big purchase of the month. I've been wanting this card for a long while now, but it's pretty pricey. I sold a ton of stuff though and had some money to play with and I FINALLY bit the bullet and picked one up. Soto had a nice rookie year and a lot of people are hoping for more of the same this year. This being his 1st ever Bowman card would be one of THE cards to own should he continue on his rise to superstardom.
