Top 100 Cards of My Collection-#59 2003 Donruss Elite Throwback Threads Jim Thorpe

Before there was Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders, there was Jim Thorpe. The ULTIMATE multi-sport superstar. He's a two time gold medalist in the Olympics and also played professional baseball and football. Thorpe excelled at everything he did, and is truly a pioneer in the sports world. This card features a swatch of a game worn Canton Bulldogs jacket that Thorpe wore. It's numbered relatively high (to 250) but I think it's cool to have a card that contains Jim Thorpe memorabilia. Also, I always loved that Donruss used to have a picture of the item that was used on the back of the card. It gives the card a more authentic feel than today's vague "memorabilia is certified to us being authentic" that you see in today's
product. Definitely a favorite of mine, as I love memorabilia
cards of icons such as Thorpe, and definitely worthy of making
my top 100 countdown.
